Sharon grew up in Montgomery County, Maryland. She attended Alleghany College of Maryland, earned her Registered Dental Hygiene degree, and obtained her license in Maryland. Her first job was in Gaithersburg, Maryland, home of the American Dental Association, where she practiced full time for 19 years until her boss retired.
Her family relocated to Berryville, VA, in 2005 to advance the education of her teen boys. She cared for her father there until 2007, working in her previous job in Maryland part-time.
In 2008, she obtained her license in Virginia, and began working for Thomas Family Dentistry in March 2009.
Sharon enjoys all aspects of dentistry and is passionate about teaching patients how to have a healthy mouth, improving their oral health through periodontal assessments, periodontal maintenance, cleanings, sealants, fluoride, and dental education with emphasis on oral home care.
Sharon strives to consistently continue her education and always brings information from the continuing education classes to implement into her practice and update her patient care. Continuing education has always provided her with a fresh and current outlook on the practice of dentistry.
“It has been an exciting and rewarding time to be a dental hygienist as research and development of implants, implant care, orthodontics, and periodontal advancements has exploded. It is my joy to serve the patients and staff of Thomas Family Dentistry.” — Sharon
