Family Dentist

Dr. Kenneth Thomas was born and raised in Fairfax, Virginia. He majored in Biology at George Mason University and continued his education at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry where he received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2003. During his time at VCU, Dr. Thomas completed an externship in the hospital oral surgery clinic. After graduation, he joined Thomas Family Dentistry and became the owner in 2014. He has pursued advanced training in implant and restorative dentistry in order to bring the best service and treatment to his patients.

Dr. Thomas lives in Warrenton with his wife, Jocelyn. They have three children: Henry, Evan and Katie. He enjoys vacationing in the Outer Banks, working out with his sons and watching Katie play volleyball. He loves to relax at home and cook for family and friends on the weekends.

Dr. Stephen Thomas joined the US Coast Guard and served our country in 1971. His first tour of duty was the Presidential Honor Guard. Following that, he sought training and duty as a Dental Technician. After serving in mobile dental units throughout New England, Dr. Thomas was honorably discharged in 1974. Working as a dental prosthetics technician, he completed eight years of education to earn his Doctorate of Dental Surgery.

In the following years of private practice, Dr. Thomas has completed post graduate certification in orthodontics and advanced study in the treatment of sleep apnea.

Dr. Thomas offers our patients substantial years of experience, knowledge, and training, combined with today’s most current technology.

Dr. Daneya Laing was born and raised in Fort Valley, Shenandoah County, Virginia. She attended Virginia Western Community College in Roanoke, Virginia and earned an Associates in Applied Science in Dental Hygiene in 1997. She enjoyed a career as a dental hygienist for many years. She later completed a Bachelors of Science in Dental Hygiene in 2013 from Old Dominion University and attended George Mason University to fulfill prerequisite coursework prior to earning a Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2020 from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry. During dental school, she completed a senior selective clinical course in advanced and surgical periodontics. Upon graduation, she was awarded The Quintessence Award for Clinical Achievement in Periodontics and The Academy of General Dentistry Award for excellence in General Dentistry.

Dr. Laing’s experience as a dental hygienist and genuine care for people add proficiency to her career as a dentist. She joined Thomas Family Dentistry in 2006 as a dental hygienist and is now privileged to continue on this team as a dentist since 2020. Dr. Laing offers dental services for patients of all ages, including early pediatric ages, with a focus on preventive dental care as an integral part of overall health. She is a member of several dental associations: the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, The Academy of Biomimetic Dentistry, The BAARD Institute, and SPEAR Dental Education.

Dr. Laing and her husband, Michael, have seven children and abundantly enjoy the many phases of life and family.

Sharon Rogers, RDH

Dental Hygienist

Sharon grew up in Montgomery County, Maryland. She attended Alleghany College of Maryland, earned her Registered Dental Hygiene degree, and obtained her license in Maryland. Her first job was in Gaithersburg, Maryland, home of the American Dental Association, where she practiced full time for 19 years until her boss retired.

Her family relocated to Berryville, VA, in 2005 to advance the education of her teen boys. She cared for her father there until 2007, working in her previous job in Maryland part-time.

In 2008, she obtained her license in Virginia, and began working for Thomas Family Dentistry in March 2009.

Sharon enjoys all aspects of dentistry and is passionate about teaching patients how to have a healthy mouth, improving their oral health through periodontal assessments, periodontal maintenance, cleanings, sealants, fluoride, and dental education with emphasis on oral home care.

Sharon strives to consistently continue her education and always brings information from the continuing education classes to implement into her practice and update her patient care. Continuing education has always provided her with a fresh and current outlook on the practice of dentistry.

Abby graduated Magna Cum Laude from Virginia Western Community College in 2008 with an Associates in Applied Science in Dental Hygiene.  She also attended NOVA Community College where she obtained a certificate to administer nitrous oxide and local anesthesia in 2008.  Abby has been working for Thomas Family Dentistry since her dental hygiene graduation almost 14 years ago.  She is well known for her compassionate nature, attention to detail, and gentle touch. 

She is always able to put her patients at ease and ensure a positive dental experience. 

Abby resides in Strasburg with her husband and three sons.

Her passion for community service has inspired her to volunteer with Planting Hope, the Veterans Affairs dental clinic, and Saturday Sealant programs for children. She currently holds a license to practice in Virginia, Maryland and West Virginia.

Wendy is quick to make patients feel at ease by building confidence, trust, and friendship. Her understanding and calming nature make it easy for patients to feel comfortable and erases the anxiety that often comes with dental visits.

In her spare time, Wendy enjoys spending time with her husband and three daughters and spending time outdoors.

What insurance plans do you accept?

We are a Delta Dental Premier provider and we accept most traditional insurance plans. Give us a call to confirm that we accept yours. We are happy to file insurance for your reimbursement as long as you are free to choose your own dentist.

Do you participate in Health Management Organizations (HMOs)?

No, we do not, but we are happy to file your insurance claims for you!

What payment types do you accept?

We take cash, checks, and credit cards.
